hello its been 3 weeks i brought two guinea pigs and my sodom and kreator are not having a single drop of water i give them lotta vegies but they are not even touching water no guinea pig water bottles available here giving water in a small bowl instead of that pate but no use i dont even have a proper cage for them proper cage and water are my first priority what to do?:0

Some guinea pigs do not drink water. They get it through their vegetables so it is nothing to worry about. When you wash their vegetables leave them wet so they get a little more water. What are they in if you do not have a proper cage and where did you get them?

one of my piggis drinks very little while the others drinks it by the bottle full , like the other member said , veg and cucumber have lots of water .

You've had them 3 weeks and havent got them a proper cage? ?/
Some piggies get their water through their veggies. if you are worried about them, feed them cucumber, as cucumber has quite a lot of water in. Try feeding them moist vegetables so they get a lot of moisture :)
Do they know that the water is there? They might be used to drinking out of a bottle and cant figure out how to drink from a bowl.
Xx

What on earth are they being kept in? If you hadnt got a proper cage why did you consider getting them? mallethead

Right, i once had a piggie that had had water in a bowl but i dont like bowls so i held the piggie and the water bottle to his mouth so he could get the gist of how to work it.

What do you mean there are no guinea pig water bottles? you can use a rabbit one if you cant buy one specific to guinea pigs.
Other wise you must get a small dish for them to try asap :...

A bottle like this that holds plenty of liquid is fine, it doesnt have to be marketed for guinea pigs, or you could order one on ebay from another country if yours really doesnt have these.

Also you should have a proper cage or pen, can you post a photo of yours?

GP not drinking

Hi.
We had a GP, Tufty he never had a drink in his life and lived until 6 and a half. GP's like this need plenty of juicy verges and fruit. But why do your GP's not drink? This is what you have to find out. Is there a problem? You need to find out. Our GP Rosie will be 8 next Easter. She will not drink from her bottle any more. This started about a year ago, why we do not know. She has developed a problem with her jaws which seem to be out of line so he teeth have to be regularly checked and trimmed. Apart from her hay, dried and fresh food we give her drinks by syringe which she loves and needs. If your GP's will not drink then you will have to help them to. Kris.
