I feel a bit like fluffy69 in the post below but my two boys have had a fight. I feel like its all my fault.

I introducted Polo and Peter really carefully, let them have lots of floor time together, they were ok, usual kind of dominance behaviour and Polo was obviously beginning to show he wanted to be the boss. I sat with them in the living room on Wednesday, watching them in a pen (on neutral ground) and one minute they were fine, the next they were in a proper fight.

I split them up straight away. Polo was unhurt but Peter has a deep bite on his side. I gave him pain relief and popped him on 5days of Baytril as a precaution but I feel so so bad now. I spoke to Jo at the rescue and she suggests trying them again. So i shall, maybe on the grass outside again. But I'm still having a panic about it. I'm worried about them having another fight.

I am so sorry! Trying two adult boars is never that easy; it can work, but it cannot.

Usually, the chances after a bloody bite are sadly not very good. You can only do so much; in the end it is the two boys who have to decide whether they get along and there is no way around it.

oh no, but don't feel bad, you did all you could, personally I wouldn't try them again though, I think Peter would probably feel quite scared if he's been hurt in the fight and think it would be very hard for them to get along now.

I personally would NOT try them together again. They have made their feelings towards one another known & in my experience once wounds have been inflicted rarely does either pig forget.

Don't blame yourself, there's no way you can forsee how they'd react to one another & you were there to separate, it could've ended far worse had you not been there. :)
