Introducing the youngest, 3 week old fudge
5570837765_1c9ae2dcca.jpg

chocolate and white female with a little ginger stripe on her left side near her cheek - very fast, very skittish at the moment and very bonded with mum, which you would expect.

And mum - as yet un-named

she is black with the ginger stripe on her left side with some bits of white in her rosettes, very pretty but I am struggling to find a name that suits presently so she is "mum" for the time being. She is the boss of the group.

and last but not least, the white rex girly called crystal

she has slight grey on her feet and ears and of the three is the bolder, but I feel sorry for crystal as mum and fudge push her out of the best beds, but I had already anticipated this hence why there are two places for hay, three bowls (will take one out when they settle in) and lots of different beds to use. She has so far been the only one that keeps sniffing the veg bowl outside the bedroom and is inspecting the tunnel in the bedroom I made. Infact she has been testing its nibbalability :))

the back of crystal and you can see fudge's ginger bit here

I will let them settle in today and gradually over the week I can get them used to me, I think fudge will be a bit of a problem as she just runs away which then worries mum, so a few cucumber bribes might win her around.

Pepper is a little over excited about our new family arrivals so I will be muzzling her just in case - she has been respectful but also I have seen that lurcher switch come on twice - which to be fair has switched off again just a quickly when I have told her to back off. I will not be taking things for granted with her as she settles down with them around as well as them learning about her too.

Awwwwww they are lovely esp the mummy! Hope they all settle in well x)

awww they are all so gorgeous. Bless Pepper, i wondered :))

Hope you find a name for mommy, shes stunning. she looks like a yummy truffle chocolate.

Enjoy them x

You have a lovely trio!

Dominance is normal in a new territory and you are well prepared for it! Your girls should settled down well .

I think I have the right name for mum, its a little strange but the short version is minty.

I loved the tv series when I was a kid called moondial and the young lady was called alaminty or something like that, an unusual name - I cant find the spelling or the full version of the name, but I think minty will suit her well.

being a new mum to them I was worried they were not eating any of the veg I had put out and crystal had wet under her chin which in one light looked suspicious so I tried to pick her up - well I couldnt get hold of her but did manage to pick up fudge who tolerated for seconds then screamed for mum :o I felt horrible so will have to softly softly with her.

Finally got hold of crystal and it was water from the water bottle and after half an hour I snuck out to see minty and crystal at the veg bowl - then they saw me and dashed back into the dark bedroom area.

At least knowing they are coming out from hiding sets my mind at rest, but I dont know how long they will take to get used to me - and do I handle them every day or leave them for a week then start handling them? I dont want to stress them out any more than I have to, plus will have to shut madam pepper inside while I do it, fudges screaming was a little too much for her to handle :o although she was very very good at staying behind the fence I put up, good girl

ahhhhhhh use your doggie knowledge :)
you will know when to be more forward and when to back off........... keep chatting to them and staying in the room, let them know that you are the foodie person and are a good person......i bet that wont take long :)
Let them sit out with you and have a hidey or two but have some treats with you so they'll come and sniff you and then the treatie :)
I think one of our members will love the mum's name Minty, she also had a piggie named Minty :)
Look forward to more pigtures droolx)

Its raining today so they have another day of just me yabbering on at them. I have been leaving their veg out there for them to eat when I am not about and to take the pressure off all parties when I spot cleaned them this morning I shut pepper inside.

I was glad to see them all out in the large area this morning, I could clean the bedroom out then without worrying them too much and I checked all the beds and hides for wet patches or mess - all ok so they have them back in for the moment, and I so far love the fleece as I just took it out and shook it off, checked the smelly rating and dampness - all fine and dandy so back in it went (lots of hair on it, but then I am used to that with the dog :))

I then had to herd them back in the bedroom area so I could do the same in the large area or kitchen area as it is. Minty doesnt want the towel in the enclosed plastic igloo as she had removed it completely and was checking out the igloo yesterday, it might be too big a bit of towel so I will cut it down a bit and try that for size, I am sure minty will let me know if she approves.

Todays veg is 1/8th sliced red pepper, one sprout, half a celery stalk, one baby sweetcorn chopped into 6 and I tried to bribe them with a slice of cucumber each, which they were not having any of.

The only thing I am scared of - if I push my luck with getting hold of one of them, that they will feel cornered and bite me :o This had never bothered me before and I will explain why I am like this in the next paragraph, I hadnt realised that I was this affected still and by non dogs. I will be brave and stop jumping when they jump, I need to get over this for their sakes, a few deep breaths and I am sure I will overcome this fear.

The reason I am scared is at christmas the dog we adopted turned on pepper and tried to kill her, it was out of the blue and happened two nights in a row. On both occasions we were on both dogs instantly, the second occasion was more frenzied and in the process of seperating them both myself and the OH got bitten. I dont blame either dog, pepper bit me, I am very lucky to still have my right thumb to be truthful, we had no other choice but to intervene as the other option would have resulted in serious if not fatal injury to pepper.

I have worked with some very scarey farm animals, been kicked, scratched, bitten and butted by many animals from hamsters to fully grown cows and I have never been afraid to get back in there, this time because I think I suffered a serious injury and the ferouciousness of the incident I cant get it out my mind and even worming my sisters cat the other day was a big deal for me. I sound like a right nutcase and probably not the best owner of the girls - I didnt realise this issue had or would come up till yesterday, but I will get over this. I am not going to be defeated by a silly fear, pepper hasnt bitten me since - she hasnt needed to fight for her life either so maybe the girls can be my therapy pets.

Congrats on your girls, they are beautiful. Crystal sounds like she may be a himi or has himi in her.

I would be extremely surprised if one should bite you. I have never been bitten by a pig that i had "cornered" to get out of a cage but i have had nips from some of them whilst in my arms but nothing to break the skin.

Thank you, as silly as it sounds, just hearing that they wont turn all teeth and claws means I can stop being so worried about them when I go to pick them up.

This coming from me who has tamed so many feral farm kittens I have lost count, and never even batted an eyelid when they hissed and struck out. Yet I get nervous at the moment when the girls are facing me and I am trying to put my hand around them.

I will take my made up cuddle cup out in a bit and hopefully they will settle down if I am not holding them but having them on my lap with another slice of cucumber. I need to clean those poops out again and check on their food so they will have to lump being picked up and I will do one at a time so when I have them they wont be affecting the others. I am going to conquer this daft feeling I have at the moment, just so shocked that it has surfaced so badly, but then after what I went through I am not surprised completely.

Oh and I will try to take some better pictures of them now its stopped raining, I think crystal has some himi in her, her feet are a darker grey than the last time I saw her a few weeks ago, nothing on her nose yet, but have read in rex's this can happen.

beautiful girls, enjoy them * r lucky to have a baby piggie, so adore baby piggies x:)
