My grandma has finally put her foot down and said now my room is done they cannot go in the house. They have to go outside, we already have a hutch that my grandma bought. But I've been in the garage and looked at it, and it's far too small for the both of them. So I am getting them a two tier hutch. :) gonna by heat pads and ice pads too, ready for hot and cold weather. I'm really panicking about them going outside as since they have been babies they have been inside, but grandma said when it comes winter again we'll keep the cage and they can come back in for winter :)

Still, I'm not happy. Gotta get supplies first though, considering she bout a tiny 4ft by 1ft cage for 2 boars, thats not really enough for one. So I was like :o you really think I'm gonna put them in there... so I've seen quite a good offer ona tw tier hutch from pah, a two tier cage with bits and bobs like a bag of timothy hay and a water bottle and things like that for £100, so gonna see if my grandma will buy it and I'll give her the money back when I get paid. Gonna buy some guinea pigs cosies too, just for them to snuggle in at night.

Awwww I'm sorry to hear about your boys going outside least they will be indoors for the winter!

When are you planning on moving them? Its still a wee cold for them to go straight outdoors espically if they are used to indoor temps, if the temp change is too great it can make them very poorly.

I'd suggest moving them in late April at the earliest it starts warming up then :)

The plans for the hutch sound brilliant though, my boars are kept in a 5 ft by 3 ft hutch, and i use loft instulation and blankets over the top of the hutch to keep the cold off them, you can get specialist hutch snugglers which are water proof and insulate the hutch from the worst weathers.

Hope the move goes well, and your boys enjoy their new home :) xx

Yeah, they aren't going out just yet, he hutch will take a while to come and I have too much going on atm, exams in may and I'm back on work placement with two assignments to do as well! haha. So the move won't be started to end of April beginning of May anyways, and I have a hutch cover thats insulated, and just bought two piggie cuddle sacs from cosy cavies on ebay :) and once the hutch is bought like I said I'll be buying heat pads and ice packs too, so they don't get too hot or too cold. Eep, really don't want them outside though.

Awww thats brilliant, british weather is blooming awful! :)) Ooo i wanted a hutch cover but decided on a shed instead (haha!) however i think I'm moving this summer so i'll be purchasing one soon for next winter brrr! I find that you dont get as much interaction with them when their outside but if you make the effort you can still get that lovely one to one time with them :) I'm usually seen as barmy as i take my uni books in the shed with me and the boys help me with the assignments and projects! (Which harvey usually nibbles the paper!) but it does stop me from being distracted by the piggie forum! hehe!

Will you be posting pigtures of the boys new home when it arrives? I'm sure they’ll be warm and cool enough, if your still a little worried you can also put a blanket in the hutch for them to snuggle into.
