After fostering Esme and Fidget for my friend, I have to say they make me and my partner really happy!
Neither of us have had the experience of living with piggies before and we are honoured to be sharing the house with them!
They are SOO funny. We're just getting used to their exquisite and very intricate language which I find fascinating. Their body language and inquisitive nature is lovely.
Just wanted to share that with peeps here
I'm still struggling to stroke Esme - in fact, ive not stroked her at all as she jumps a mile! Fidget is fine being stroked which is nice. Esme is a lot more explorative and cheeky - she definately "popcorns", its so amusing and it makes me smile a lot to think that she's happy staying at our house.
Any tips on how to gain Esme's trust a little more?
We can very easily hand feed her - no problems. When i open the door on the run she will come up to me as if she wants contact, so far as to venture out of the run onto the carpet and sniff my jeans, but as for contact she is SO jumpy. I'm sure she hasnt really been handled that much, or at least the handling so far for her has been negative experience.
I do know that my friend regularly takes them away to a campsite, so have been picked up and put in the car, in a carry case. Whether or not that has been a pleasant experience remains to be seen. But seeing as my friend has a dog, a baby and some often loud music on in the car - i cant see it as being particularly nice for them? SO it could possibly stem from there?
Any ideas on how to forward her trust in us would be fab! x)
