Hello!
I’m just a little concerned about my piggies, Holly and Bramble.
They haven’t been themselves today - usually they’re wheeking like mad and I got nothing this morning! Spending a lot of time lying down in the hutches. They’re not excess panting or any difficulty breathing. They do move around, and I’ve taken their igloos out.
Haven’t eaten as much as usual at all either today, and didn’t go nuts at their veggies either! They have at a nibble at their veggies.

I’m assuming it’s something to go with the hot weather? They’re in the most shaded part of the garden as possible, and let out in the grass in the evening when it’s cool. Last time they went out was 2 days ago.

You know me - I’m just worried! They haven’t drank much either, but the water bottle is okay and flowing as normal, I’ve just refreshed the water again. Any suggestions? If they’re still like this in the morning I’ll rush to the vets.

Please have them vet checked for heat stroke damage ASAP and bring them indoors into the coolest room in any temperatures over 25 C (75 F)!

Hot Weather Management And Heat Strokes

Step in with syringe feeding to help getting their guts going again/preventing GI stasis in addition to a vet check.
Make sure that your car is not boiling hot and that you do not expose them and their weakened heart and bodies to any further heat.

Both have been looked over by a vet and not heat stroke, but they did seem under the weather - perked up and started eating under the AC. Tucking in to cucumber and carrots at the moment and wheeking like mad :) been told to keep a close eye on them but luckily we got there before any damage was done. This weather is so dangerous!
