They wont use the new hidey

I haven't had any hidey houses in the cage for a few weeks now. I decided to buy another one to put in and got this one

put a bit of fleece inside to make it soft and stuff but neither of them will use it. It is big enough, especially for Sprout, but they wont go in it :{

Hmm that's strange! My 2 have one of these and they looovvvee it! Maybe it might just take them some time to get used to it?

Mine never use anything when they are new. I think the new smell puts them off. You can always put a little fleece inside to make it cosy.

I get really excited putting new things in the cages, only for them to be ignored for weeks after a cursory sniff! I had a wicker ball in there for about 2 months, and just as I was about to throw it out, Burt started nibbling it. Also, things that they ignore in their cages, they suddenly go loopy for when I put them out on the floor during their floor time!

Ours are the same, I swear they believe that everything new is a Trojan Horse... They view it with suspicision, we always have to wash new cosies or disinfect new plastic stuff and even then it takes several hours before they venture in.

They will race into the paper bag I put in but they still seem wary of the hidey! Odd balls.

Maybe try rubbing hay on the entrance to lure them in or a little trail of nice veggies

Sorry this has nothing to do with the thread, but i keep misreading the title as "they wont use their new kidney"! And i keep opening the thread to find out about the "kidney", done it 3 times now! Lol I must be really tired or something!
