Hello everyone,

I have 6 healthy and happy boars that i love to pieces! We have 2 pairs that live happily together and then we have bruce and humphrey - bruce is a bit pushy at the moment so they are both seperated for awhile.

Now i think i already know the answer to this but thought i'd ask to be sure.

Would i be able to put all my boars together for supervised playtime in a neutral territory?

I assume not as i could see alot of arguments and disputes going on but thought i'd ask anyway :)
 
Success with boars depends allot on personality I have two pairs that on neutral territory are fine , but I also have a single boar who would tear to pieces any boar he laid eyes on no matter where he was, I would say its risky business and if you value the groupings you have now and don't want to risk separating them I would avoid it, although if you do try I would suggest that you try a split run or cages side by side rather than loose running time to get an idea of reactions.
 
I'd say they would probably fight, so wouldn't really risk it
 
I thought as much!

I already have them placed so they can see and smell each other- they get on fine through the bars - but don't think i'll risk a big group gathering :)

I have four boars too who live in pairs and would never risk upsetting them. They chatter and sniff each other through the grids buts that's as close as they get :(|)
 
Don't risk it, you could end up with 6 single boars. If they're happy as they are I wouldn't tempt fate. Boys! Why can't they play nicely together? rolleyes
 
Plus you shouldn't try just putting them together for play time if you don't plan on them being in the same cage together, because that is very stressful for you to just try to put them together for play time which I don't think would end up well.
