So up Intel today my Guinea pigs were fine. Today when I fed and watered them I noticed one of them didn't come running squeaking at me. She was having trouble walking and was acting really weird. Now she's laying in the corner of her cage having what looks like seizure after seizure and I'm not sure what to do. Everything I saw online kept saying mites but she hasn't been scratching or anything. Everything was fine yesterday and her cage friend is still perfectly healthy. Someone please tell what to do

I would definitely take her to the vet as soon as possible, something similar happened to my guinea pig and they weren't scratching. I took them to the vet and it turned out to be mites. The gave him a quick treatment to do at home and he was fine but its important to treat it quickly.

But wouldn't it be affecting the other one living in the cage as well?

Guinea pigs can have all kinds of seizures. Please see a vet asap; try and google whether there is an emergency vet within your reach.

Seizures can be a symptom of advanced un- or undertreated mange mites, but they come very much with other mange mite signs of which you haven't mentioned any whatsoever, so we can safely eliminate that angle. Mange mites do not start with seizures.
Looking up symptoms online can unfortunately give you very haphazard results as you can never go by just a single symptom and expect you get the whole truth.

Here is our emergency and bridging care advice, including what to do if you cannot see a vet in time: Emergency, Crisis and Bridging Care until a Vet Appointment

I don't know at the time my guinea pig was by himself but there is probably reasons why the other one isn't doing the same if one really does have it.

I accept that you want to be helpful but please respect our explicit forum health policy of NOT recommending any treatment on spec without even seeing or handling the guinea pig and without having any medical experience.

There is a very good reason why we have members with a badge. We are not one of the these everybody can chip in online places.

I am so sorry; I've been afraid of that.

Below are guides that I have written for this kind of situation and that can talk you through it. I hope that it they can help you.
Please do not feel like you have failed your little one. Even a vet visit would not make any difference in these circumstances; I can assure you on that point from my own desperate races over the years. It is just one of these things where there is so little we can do. :(
Keep her quiet and warm but not hot has her body closes down.

I am very sorry; I've stayed up waiting to see whether you would come back. Unfortunately it is now midnight here.
I am keeping you and your poor little girl in my thoughts!

Thank you. We are moving her from her cage to a comfy place to try to make it more peaceful for her to go. She's tried all afternoon just looks like her fights over now. Just hope she's not suffering that's the last thing we want.

Perhaps it would be a good idea to put her cagemate with her, guinea pigs will often try to comfort very sick friends. Of course, if her friend shows she's not interested in that, then all you can do is comfort her as best you can yourself. She will know how much you care and love her x

They have been together there whole lives. But she doesn't seem to want anything to do with her. She's staying in her house and wont go anywhere near her for some reason.

I'm sorry :( I guess she knows what's going on and has already said her goodbyes but doesn't want to stay with her. I hope that your little one passes peacefully, if that is what's happening :(:(

I’m sorry ☹️ Piggies can go down hill really quickly - and they’re also very good at hiding their illnesses.

Well she's gone to fur baby heaven. Thanks tho everyone!

So sorry for your loss. Hugs to you and may piggy popcorn free 💔

I am so sorry. Some deaths happen out of the blue and with truly frightening speed. Please do not feel like you have failed your girl in any way. Feelings of guilt and soul-searching are a normal part of the onset of the grieving process. You have them only if you truly love and care.
