CageXLarge.jpg

I'm thinking about these simple C & C cages. I look at them and they seem so plain. However, adding things as time goes on (like ramps and another levels) would be fun too. And obviously once the guineas homes are in there and their hay rack and things.. it will not look so.. boring?

Basically I was just wondering - For a mum who's about to have minipigs, what size would be good? I was thinking of getting the extra large cage, and then seperating the middle with extra cubes? Thie picture there is the extra large one.

But, is this really big enough? I guess the picture doesnt really portray the size well.

I have this size one for 2 of my boys, so it depends how many piggies I think. It would be fine for mum and her bubs, but depending how many boys/girls she has you may need bigger! You can buy the cubes separately of course as well the the correx so you can always add to it if you need to! You are lucky in the states that they are readily available and cheap too, the ones here are so hard to get hold of and v expensive and look similar to a prison ;D ;D
If you ever visit blighty, you may have to bring a truck load over for us all on here :D

That size would be fine for mum and minis. The site you got it from cavy cages recommend that size for 3 pigs, once they are fully grown. I think splitting it down the middle would defeat the purpose of buying a cage that size. The materials are readily available in the US so you could even buy them and build your own. Although you should take into account that new born pigs can actualy fit through the grid spaces.

Yes good point gus and jack. You could use cardboard higher up inside the grids to stop them sqeezing through O0

Agree with all :) LOL I had the same thought about the little ones getting through the gaps ;)

Oh sounds good! I couldn't really tell how big the wholes were - but I thought surely they would make it small enough for minipigs too! i guess not. :(

So, I've done a bit of looking around on net, and was wondering - since you can make your own, and by your own correx, can you get the correx alot bigger than the one in this picture? Just curious.. Because I think I would want a bigger one. ;D

Yup, you can get huge sheets of it, or even join 2 sheets together. Here we get it in sign shops, it is the stuff used for house `for sale `signs and the like. Not sure about the states though but you guys seem to be able to buy ANYTHING and it's cheap. Not fair :'(

;D Agree, you should be able to get a bigger size and for a cheap price. :( :)

Well cause the one I posted a picture of was 100$ american. So, how is that compared to the UK? I don't know the currency ratios..

I think it is about £50 now with the exchange rate. All my grids cost me £65 and the correx would have been another £30 and the grids aren't even nice coloured ones :( I use floor vinyl on the base though as I got it free O0
