Brilliant, I hope all goes well for you and the little cute piggies you have, I hope from now on that they settle and get on well together, well done for just waiting that bit longer to see them ok with each other x :yahoo::D

I can't tell you how pleased I am. They might be funny again later but so far today they've been absolutely fine. Fingers crossed I can keep them and they'll be happy. :-) thank you so much for everyone's support and kind words and advice, it's very much appreciated and really helps! x

That's so good to watch them in that video, they look good but I think you can tell that longer hair bigger one wants to be the boss but I love the way the other one keeps jumping around its great to see. :D

I read above you don't want to get a female because you have bonded boars.
I too have bonded boars and a female. How I sorted it out was I have the bonded boys on a higher up level cage and underneath that cage is where my neutered boar and his wife live. The boys can't see or smell her as they are above. It works out fabulously.
Hey Julsie I am considering doing the same thing I am thinking of getting nemmy neutered in jan/feb time and seeing if I can find him a female/pair of females to bond him with but he lives above my bonded boars I am hoping it wont affect them as they get on great

If you still have problems with them can a rescue help to try and bond them better? A new location a neutral space with different smells and some boar dating time with an experienced bonder to try and bring them back together? Might be worth a try ive seen it done with rabbits before.

I can find simeone who bonds them and it might make them get on better? That's a fantastic idea, I will look into that for sure thank you so much

Yeah maybe a rescue who does boar dating can help or a rescue who specializes in bonding males before they rehome them its worth asking around you never know. If not your cage is huge they could possibly live with a divide in the middle. My boars lived like that as neighbours for ages, they hated not being able to see each other but hated living with each other too

The cagenisnt big enough to be split into 2 single ones, I measured it a little while ago and it would be too small :-( I will certainly look around to see if they can be bonded better. Today strangely enough they have got on fine, I will just keep my fingers crossed that they will carry on this way

Wow it is fantastic to hear they are getting on better. I am so pleased. Maybe it was just a case of establishing dominance. Fingers crossed they stay friends.

They look good at the moment! I'm far from an expert, but from what I know of observing my boys is that your short haired piggy has some degree of dominance and the long haired one is less confident but trying it on for a piece of the dominance? I see the rumblestruts, humping, teeth chattering and nose-offs between mine on occasion, paticularly when they're out of the cage. My boy pig Monty is just 7 months old so hes within the 'teenage' hormonal stage which is why he keeps trying to push his luck for dominance. I've been told this stage can continue up to about 15 months of age, and even then boys sometimes test the waters for any chance at being the boss.

To me that looks like completely normal dominance. They are still trying to figure out who is boss. There's nothing aggressive there.
I certainly wouldn't split them up. Your long haired boy reminds me a lot of my piggie Romano. He acts very much the same way as a dominant boar, rumbling like that, bum sniffing but not really any humping.

There's no loud chattering of teeth or lunging. They just seem to be testing out who can be the boss pig =)

From what I could see from the video (before it stopped loading!) it looks normal - this is similar to what my boys were like at the beginning and like you I was worried, but it didn't take them long to settle

Just watched your video and although I know nothing about keeping two boys (I have a neutered male and two females ) it was lovely watching yours run and play. They are very handsome.
