Thinking of getting another piggie

hi

i already have four girls and i would love another piggy. i'm thinking a neutered boy. But was wondering am i being selfish in wanting another piggy. the girls are quite happy and i dont want to upset them.

I'm just confused. any suggestions or comments would be helpful. mallethead

2 of my girls are about a year and the other 2 are 5 months old.

Well piggies do like company so if the introductions go well they may be happy to have a new friend. Do you have all your sows together or in pairs?

Depending on your cage sizes, if you have enough room, and time to spend with them I don't see why not :)

I have 7 in my garage and 4 in my house and they seem very happy :)
 
thank you they are all together in their own room in a c&c cage 5 and a half grids by 4. i would let them have the whle room but oh wont let me :)
 
I think getting a neutered boar is a good idea! He will be one happy boar and the girls will be bickering less! :))

Your cage is big enough by any standard, anyway! You would be only selfish if you couldn't really afford another piggy and not do its needs justice. There are so many piggies looking for a happy home in the rescues - especially boars.

I would love a boar to add to my girls too at some point. Are rescues willing to home boars to someone who intends to get them neutered?

I would have thought that rescues would prefer boars to be neutered, but that's just my opinion. They'll at least know that they won't be getting the offspring of the boar back in to rehome at some point.

they dont really bicker now just occasionaly which is good.

thanks i thought the cage was big enough for one more. can definately afford another one wouldnt get one otherwise its not fair. :)
