Thinking of owning Guinea pigs.

Hi everybody! I'm thinking of getting a Guinea pig but I have 2 dogs, we're thinking of keeping them in my room with a stair gate by the door, what do you think?
 
Hi and welcome to the forum. Just to let you know I have editted your locatihon as you put your street address in and this was then visible publicly on the internet. I have left it as UK as the moment but if you want you can change it to your town/city in your profile. With keeping dogs and piggies and I would aim for separate rooms with a door closed. A stairgate can be jumped for a determined dog, especially if you are not around to keep an eye on them

Thank you for changing it, we'll use your advice when we come to get the piggies. Thanks for the advice!
 
:agr: I would also make sure that your cage has a lid, just in case one of the dogs get into the room.
You can get lids for C&C cages, which are a great indoor option (2x4 minimum for two females, 2x5 for two males). There are also suitable commercial cages. 120x60 cm (equivalent to a 2x3 C&C cage) is the bare minimum requirement for two, but a 150x60 cm (equivalent to a 2x4 C&C cage) is strongly recommended for two guinea pigs.
