Icklewag
New Born Pup
Hi everyone!
I am new to the forums so bear with me if I am a little rubbish :-)
My boy, Edgar, has recently developed a thinning patch just above his bottom. It seems to be causing him no trouble and I've never seen him fuss it. I have noticed though that the skin around his back end is very dry and flaky. I gave him his first ever bath last week with guinea pig shampoo (he was very good about it!) and a thorough groom and it improved.
Today however I notice he has another thinning patch developing on the top of his back and his skin is bad again.
He is roughly 4 years old and lives with a female who is showing none of these symptoms.
I had another male a few years ago with the same kind of fur (short and wiry, I don't know the official name, sorry!) and he had the same issues but again, it never seemed to bother him. The female he lived with never showed the same symptoms either.
Edgar is booked into the vets for this coming Tuesday but I wondered if anyone had any advice in the meantime? I see a lot of suggestion that it might be mites.
Thanks!
