This ad makes me so mad!

I just found this ad on Gumtree http://www.gumtree.ie/dublin/79/53598379.html

Sounds very mean, wanting to "get rid of it" cos they want a different pet. Ive emailed her to see if we can take it. I feel bad for the pig being left behind though.

We could take him and have him neutered and put him with our girls.
SOme people are just morons.
 
i hate it when pets are treated like a phase :/ out with the old in with the new and all ¬_¬

when i got my p@h piggles, i remember being in hysterics over the fact that that my receipt said

'guinea pigs - pack of two'

it's really awful how many people will happily 'replace' a pet
 
Hopefully we can take him before they sell him to a breeder or something. Its an awful long drive for us though, my OH isnt keen but we shall see. Hes soft at heart just like me.

I couldn't believe my receipt said the same thing.

I hate how peoople treat animals like items with the same value as clothes or something. When it goes out of fashion or gets boring give it away and get something new.
 
I just can't understand anyone that would do that.

I'd really love a couple of dwarf bunnies but i know my mum would never allow it while we have the piggies, as we'd probably keep them inside and have nowhere to put them.
I'd rather wait until i have my own space that I can rearrange how I want to accomodate everyone. I really couldnt shunt out my little babies to make way for something new :( they mean too much to me, i couldnt imagine my life without them!

People baffle me, they really do.
 
Its so sad that theyre getting rid of only the one and not the other. Why on earth would a new pet not get along with that one, but perfectly well with the white one :(

I wonder what type of pet it is :...

The owner doesnt sound as if they give a :x. "wanna get rid of it as want to get other pet that wouldnt be too friendly with this one.. its the creamy one not the white one".

So horrible :...

I hope that you can persuade OH. Persuade with beer!
 
i think its discusting how people just want to get rid of pets like a piece of furniture when they cant be bothered no more. i quite often see ads on gumtree people just giving pets up, also p@h adoption area is always full of pets and reason for rehoming always the same 'owner has no time' its ridiculous!

i knew when my daughter got her first piggies it would come down to me for cleaning feeding & cuddles most of the time she got round the problem by letting me choose one of the boys

i wouldnt be with out any of 5 boys love them all so wrong in that ad saying it need to get rid so unfair no the poor piggie 8...
 
OH not coming around easily. he doesnt want to travel that far. Now he is making me mad too! I will keep trying though :) I havent had a reply to the email I sent her yet either.

That's sad! I also don't understand the get rid culture when it comes to live creatures.

Let us know if you can get them wont you?
 
I wonder what's happened to the white one? The advert says it's only for the "cream" one.
 
bad punctuation and poor English don't help. I think they want to 'replace' the cream (adorable) piggy because he doesn't get on with the white (as adorable) one. I hope Loveisdivine gets some answers soon...
 
I look on free ads everyday - my partner says I'm torturing myself but I can't help looking!

I'd say about 80% of Gumtree ads in my area say 'get rid', at the mo the common reason is 'having a baby', 'other pets don't like it', 'kids got bored'.

Preloved is full of backyard breeders - sigh! rolleyes
 
Still no email. I tried ringing but there was no answer. To be honest last time I saw a poor piggie on gumtree, the person didnt get back to me.
I'm sure someone else has aldreayd snapped him up cos hes lovely! Just hope its a decent person/
