This News Story Made Me Very Angry

People are awful aren't they @YvonneBlue . My boy Toki was found in a similar situation. He was originally called Iggy because they only had a plastic igloo in the box with them. And it was on a cold snowy day.

People are heartless and irresponsible. I volunteer for a small animal rescue and it's unbelievable some of the cases we have come through the door. So sad how some people think it's okay to throw animals away like they're garbage, and it only gets worse from this time of year for the next few months as pets are presents and Christmas and then kids get bored of them and the parent s don't want to take responsibility so dump them 😭😪

I couldnt imagine doing this myself and then walking away and not feel hugely guilty. What else are these people capable of?
I actually think it's worse when people abandon them in a place they 90% won't be safe in. Like the people that dump them in shrubs in a park or in a bin bag with rubbish. If there is an abandoner that's better than another, it just has to be those that abandon animals outside a shelter for example. They're both as bad as one another but at least if they're left outside a shelter or vets they will ultimately get the better outcome

Poor things :( I'm so glad they were found in this weather! It's cold enough indoors at night never mind outside..

I hope they find whoever dumped them.
Me too. But all they will get is a ban from keeping any pets and a fine. Should be named and shamed and a prison sentence. There needs to be a real scare involved to stop this happening.

My local pets at home said to me that a few times people distract the person at the til and dump the unwanted pet on the counter. I think embaresment is why people dump. Crazy

It is crazy because most rescues will take them 'no questions asked' so there is no need for this sort of cruelty.

Sometimes there's a tiny fee which contributes towards the animals care, however this is more a donation than a fee if you get me. Still though, I don't believe there's a fee if you say "we found this animal" even if you didn't find it, like there's ways around it if peoplelitwrally cant afford anything

Some people are incredibly callous and irresponsible! A friend of mine has a guinea pig who she found in a similar circumstance... her dog sniffed him out at the park. Someone had abandoned him in a shoebox. I guess her dog recognized the smell because she has other guinea pigs. Some people are just lacking in empathy, it's really disgusting!
