On Friday evening the OH thought it would be time for a special grape treat
for the piggies. So off he went, 1 grape each. Everybody was happily stuffing their face until I could hear OH‘s slightly concerned „Cornelius? Are you okay?“. It quickly became apparent that the little man had something stuck in his mouth that he couldn’t seem to get out. I thought maybe he managed to get the skin of his grape stuck on his molars. So my obvious first step was to syringe him a little bit of water which immediately dribbled out of his mouth again. When he also couldn’t manage to eat a bit of lettuce I realised that this must be more than just a piece of grape skin. With the pig on OH‘s chest firmly held down I was trying to pry open his mouth to see if I could spot the culprit. And sure enough, there it was: THE WHOLE GRAPE! This tiny pig had shoved the whole grape into his mouth without chewing, managed to get it stuck between his molars, trapping his tounge in the process. There I was, trying not to panic. I grabbed a cotton swab (aka the first best thing I could think of) and went to dislodge the grape. Now with him trying to fight me and eat the cotton swab at the same time you can imagine what an operation this was. After 3 attempts I managed to dislodge the grape and he was happily chewing away, dribbling some grape juice on OH‘s t-shirt wondering what all the fuss was about. I swear, this pig will be the death of me!
