I said the other day about Bann bar begging minus the bars for balance and how he nearly fell. Twice. Well last night it was Camowen's turn for something daft.

I'd taken out the old beds during cage clean and went to put in two new ones when I did the Snugglesafes because I was tired and one trip downstairs was quicker than two. I put the first one in, "and there's one, and..." and in the half second it took me to grab the second (both going side by side) Camowen runs into that space and stops. "uh no not there and Camowen no why are you choosing now to stop and wash yourself?"

The neighbours probably think I've gone mad. They're right. I have.

Went to give them hay cookies earlier. I had a half one at the top of the pile so I took both. Plonked one outside each bed. Camowen stuck his nose out to eat, but Bann was being shy (or so I thought). So I have a quick peek in the bed and Bann's not there. He's not in the log tunnels under the fleece overhang. Panic ensues.

The git was hiding under a sheet of paper. Bann, 1. Anthony, 0.

Round 2!

I went to scatter in a few pellets. The area was clear. And at the literal moment they left my hand, Bann walked into the landing zone. Sorry mate.

They got a pea flake each. Bann took his just fine. Camowen was something else. I'd have the flake right where he could grab it, but he sticks his nose through every space in the bars except for the one I have my fingers in.

Went to put the water bottle back on the cage. One of the springs had come loose so I was putting it back together. Camowen saw fingers. Fingers usually appear with food. Camowen tried to eat my fingers as I tried to get the bottle set up.

Oh, boars. Never change.

I'm guessing there's a bit of truth to the tale that animals take after those taking care of them :))
