Where do you let your guinea pigs exercise during the winter months?

My four girls live free range in a 6ft by 3ft shed so I don't feel as guilty as I used to about them being cooped up.

Ever since I have had guinea pigs, I have brought them in the house for exercise time. Always in a room with the heating off (before it has even gone on) and the window slightly open. Yes, it makes it cold for me and hubby but the girls need their exercise.

The girls have a new fold up pen that I just leave at the top of the stairs on the landing as it is colder up here and I am often on the computer in the spare room so am still next to them.

If it is really cold and horrible, I don't bring them in. Just wondering really what other people do?

well mine have a run on the patio when its dry, but depends how cold it is that determines how long they have. they don't go out very much in the winter though i have to admit :(

Mine don't ether and it's such a shame :( I try and have them out every other day but sometimes it can be longer. They spend almost everyday in their outdoor run during the summer and in their indoor run when it's raining. Stupid winter!

I bring my 6 year old boar in. But as the nights begin to get colder i often use a snuggle safe in his hutch. I also have lots of insulation such as a cover and some plastic door covers for him to keep it extra cosy until he comes in around Sept/Oct time (depending on the temperature).

x.

They have a wonder round the shed floor when I clean them out, I have two boars outside in separate hutches and they also have a snugglesafe heat pad each. I have my other boar and sows indoors.
