I was just having a read through this article at work and discussing it with one of our animal science lecturers who specialises in rodent behaviour.

Prenatal social stress masculinizes the females' behaviour in guinea pigs

A really interesting read and a concept I've heard people talk about on many occasions.

We were just interested to ask the opinion of those who own sows? Do you think they show more masculine behaviours these days? Particularly as a result of stresses due to modern environments that the mothers are exposed to before the sows are born? An interesting link indeed!

I cant seem to find the link to that article - got the journal and many other articles but not that one.

I havent enough sow experience to tell. Be interested to read the article and see what behaviours have been observed

Yes I struggled to find the full access to that one. It was my colleague who had notes on it from her MSc research. It is an interesting one
