Junior Guinea Pig
As I have been a member for some time, but never posted any pics, I thought I would do that now. I had thought to when Pootle passed away, so you could all see what a lovely piggy you helped give advice to. These are in order of who we adopted first:-
Oyster, aka 'The Oikmeister or Oiky or Oik Boik' (approx 4yrs old but unsure)
Adopted from unwanted family. Had been on her own for over a year in an outside hutch with no company. She was snappy and poorly when we got her but she is now just snappy with the others and loves me, lol. She has a condition with her eye like dogs have that means the hairs fold in and irritate her. She also suffers from bloating and is generally always a bit unwell although she is a regular at the vets and they cant find what is wrong!
This is my gorgeous baby Pootle RIP. She was about 3 yrs old & we bought her and her 'sister' from PAH to keep Oyster (the eldest) company.
(this is poppy, pootle and fluffy)
Poppy, aka 'Popsy or poppy woppy' . Pootle's 'sister' from PAH. Never liked being cuddled or stroked up until recently. Is head strong and v quiet except when wheaking for food.
Fluffy, aka 'Princess, Flufster, Fluffy Woofy' - about 2.5yrs old. Funny little thing who has a strong character and is mischievious. She was always the escapee of the clan and would launch herself over fences or from my arms. Very agile and a big softy but is tends to not get on so well with the others. She bullied Pootle terribly when Pootle was ill which I think was payback for Pootle bullying her.
LOVES chinny cuddles! So much that she almost falls over backwards when having them, hehe.
Guiness, adopted from the lovely Vic via Warsal RSPCA.
Surfer dude would be appropriate for this little man as he is so laid back and chilled. When he does have a paddy, it's really funny as he will just start whining and run off in a huff, haha. Will often sit at the edge of the cage waiting for a head cuddle but doesn't like being picked up much.
Cinnamon. Only a few months old but is the largest of the pigs! Don't ask, I don't know how she got so big at all! She is already like 1.2kg, lol. She has a v strong personality and used to nip alot. She doesn't anymore really unless she really wants to be put down from cuddles. She loves having chinny cuddles and will stand there for ages while you do it, with one leg raised in the air. Super cute. She doesn't like to chill out for lap cuddles too much though. Loves allorts of food and is def the most adventurous of them all in that dept!
A pic of their house:-
I always worry it's too small or not good enough and have built about 3 so far for them. It's pretty large and has 3 floors which they all use and they can also run out into the kitchen now when they want to. In the eves they also come into the lounge for floor time. It's hard work cleaning it out though! Bane of my life! lol
