I just wanted to say something as I met a lovely lady today who has rescued loads of piggies over the years. I think it's so sad that they are sooo many piggies on here and other sites looking for homes, that people don't want to look after anymore and people who just don't give a dam and neglect them. This lady I met today had 100 piggies and she was really nice - the piggies were all kept clean and had recently rescued some who were in a bad shape - I just don't understand why any human could not feed, clean or look after their piggies - this whole country is full of cruel and if I could swear I would! horrible people but it just makes me so mad and sad that people decide they want a pet and then don't look after it or feel fed up they just dump it somewhere. I know I might have a few animals, but there is no way I could ever abuse or even not bother to look after them, I decided to have these animals and it's my responsibility to look after them, treat them if they are ill, fed them, because they can't fed themselves now! but there are people out there who just don't give too poos.

I think these people who rescue animals, whatever they are dogs, cats, horses, piggies are genuine animals lovers and look after them, are just the kindest people.

Anyway I just wanted to say how I felt and sorry if I have bored you...Natasha.
 
before we got our piggies we also said that once we got them we would not get rid of them unless anyone in the household got ill because of them. We also said if money got tight we would feed the kids, then the piggies then us! :( We also talked about vet bills and how we could afford them and we put monty away every week, some weeks its £10 and other weeks we ony manage £2. but its all better than nothing. but luckily enough everything has went well so far.

I do get annoyed with people who dont actually think things through and just purchase an animal without giving the cleaning, handling, feeding, bills and whether or not the kids will get bored before they get them. xx
 
Totally agree if I had more money I would have more pigs because I love having them! I'd love a rabbit area fenced off in my garden and a pig section so I could watch them popcorn and blinky all day! 100 is pushing it though...lol What a wonderful lady to take in so many. :smitten:
 
When we got ours, I remember the lady at the garden centre (sorry - didn't know about rescues then!) being really impressed that I was buying a book on guinea pig care at the same time! "I wish everyone did that" she said wistfully. ?
 
I have to admit I was totally shocked when I saw how many piggies she said - I kept saying to her "I can't believe how many you have!" but she does care for them and they were lovely :smitten: if I had more money sunshine I would buy more and more 2, especially if I ever won the lottery! I don't put any money away, but I'm not on a bad wage, though its only secretarial work, and I should really have a few hundred pound left over, but I can't help buy spoil my animals, with nice veg, treats, toys etc, so I never have any money left over a month. We have the 3 dogs insured, but if I ever had to pay for vets bills then I just pay it.

I'm going to give my old hamster cages to the lady with 100 piggies, Cos she rescues hamsters too - I have about 10 old cages, Cos I spoilt my hamsters and upgraded their cages twice! so I rung her back after I got home (I went to buy a cage from her) and said I had cages for hamsters if she ever needed them and she said great - so I'm off next week, looking after the two boys who are going to be neutered Monday and will sort out all of the old hamster cages, toys etc, so she can have them - they will only end up going in the bins in a few years, Cos they are just stuck up the attic.
 
That's brilliant about the cages! I have 10 pigs and I spoil mine rotten. Sunshine is 1 on the 25th...lol so we are having a party! 98) I'm full of cold just been out to feed them at 9pm mum rung and said where are you I said in the barn she goes mad lol but I wouldn't have it any other way!

I can now bring animals in and mum doesn't realise as I have the pigs and 2 rabbits...lol Thankfully we don't live together! ;D
 
that's so sweet that you are having a party - i don't know exactly how old my piggies are, apart from the babies which were born here, so maybe I will buy them extra treats for their bday! hope the party goes well :) mums hey ::) though I have to admit I don't speak to my mum she's an alcoholic and has been a crap mum to us, but nice that your mum cares about u :)

do you own a farm as you have a barn?

they are wonderful people who rescue piggies or any animal, they open their lives, homes and hearts to these fur babies, care for them, nurse them, and then rehome them and then start all over again. they are saints to animals 0:) 0:) 0:) and wish there were more people like them O0 especially here in oz :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: i know i would not be strong enough to do it, so i am in awe of those who do O0 have a great party sunshine :smitten: :smitten: :smitten:
