Hi!
So after finding out that burgess pellets had alfalfa in them I decided to go looking for a new food. I preferably want a food that is on the same website as my hay (which is the hay experts) so that then I don't have to back and forth to different websites. But I was looking around the hay experts and found a brand of piggle nuggets by beaphar, the ingredients didn't look too shabby either!:D
Here's the ingredients: Timothy Hay 49%, herbal hay 10%, chicory 5%, inulin 0.2%, yucca schidigera 0.05%, grape seed extract 0.01%, seeds, fruit (apple 5%), vegetable protein extracts, minerals, oils & fats, algae (spirulina powder 0.01%).

The only thing I'm a bit worried about is the chicory and the seeds, but because about half of the food is Timothy based I thought it might be worth a try:)

Here's all the analytical stuff:
Additives: oregano
Nutritional additives: Vit A, Vit D3, Vit E, Vit C, Vit K3, Vit B1, Vit B2, Vit B6, Vit B12, Niacin, Biotin, Folic acid, cholin, Iodine, copper, manganese, zinc, selenium

Just thought I'd make sure there safe before buying them:)
Thank you in advance!

Sorry here's the analysis:
crude fibre 23%, crude protein 17%, crude oils & fats 3.3%, crude ash 8.4% (calcium 0.8%, phosphorous 0.49%).
I'm not to sure what the recommended protein and things are for guinea pigs:)

I was given a sample pack of this food. The smell is a little strong compared to the smell of Oxbow's pellets, and kind of strange - it reminds me of tomatoes or maybe even pizza? The guinea pigs were curious about it and liked it initially, but definitely prefer their Oxbow pellets. The Beaphar pellets are much larger than Oxbow's, though this doesn't bother them. I did notice though that both pigs drank more water than usual after eating the Beaphar food. I don't know if it's possible that it contains more salt?

Thank you, pizza? Haha that's funny, it might prove that guinea pigs like pizza!:D unfortunately I can't get a hold of oxbow pellets so this is why I'm looking for alternatives. Maybe one of the ingredients is quite salty? But why don't I give them a try and see how my pigs react?:)
But thanks a lot!

Well, pizza smell is probably taking it too far, but I definitely smell something tomato-ish in our bag. However, I just asked my husband to get a whiff, and he thinks I'm either hungry or crazy, and insisted the food smells nothing like pizza :) If you do give it a try, please let me know whether you smell the tomatoes.

Well my piggies like tomatoes:) but I think I will buy it when I order more hay for them:) but thank you for helping me!

I'm not sure if they are good or not but I bought them for Lucky ages ago and I hated the smell :vom:
He didn't seem to like them that much so I didn't buy them again.
The food they are on now has a similar smell but it's not as strong so I'm okay with it :D

Oh well when I buy them I will not put my nose in to far!:D Luckily my piggies aren't to fussy when it comes to food. What food are your pigs on now? Thank you for your help!

Haha, I hope you're okay with the smell, it might be just me who doesn't like it :)
Mine are on Rosewood Naturals Meadow Menu, the box has lasted nearly 2 months because I don't give them a lot of it but I will definitely be buying it again when we run out. :)

Mine are not too fussy either, they used to eat Burgess and Asda's own brand. Lucky was also on Harringtons for a while, they were happy eating all of them :)
