Teddy’s paw has very slowly been turning this colour over the last few years. I’ve shown it to a vet before and he said it was nothing to worry about but I just wanted to see what you guys think please and if it’s happening to anyone else’s pig. Thank you.

I think (and I'm by no means an expert on this) that piggies can have some colour changes/stronger definitions as they grow older. I was saying only yesterday that the darker side of Daisys nose/lip has got a lot darker over the last year or two

Is he maybe a bit of a himalayan mix? Our blonde and white piggy has a bit of himalayan parentage and her feet and ear edges go dark sometimes, at first I thought she was grubby, then I wondered of the edges of her ears were sore, but she just has a hint of himalayan colour points!
My lilac and white piggy has grown some pale ginger patches too that weren't there 6 months ago, I think some pigs do just change colour with age...

Thank you both. I’m not 100% sure how old he is but I would estimate about 5 so it could be down to him getting older.

I have wondered about him having a tiny bit himi in him because his nose gets a tiny bit darker sometimes but not very much so I’m never sure if it is a himi thing or if he just gets a bit dirty lol.

Hi! I agree with the vet. It doesn't look swollen or inflamed in any.

You can often see when a piggy is feeling hot that pink feet and ears turn intensely red because the heat shedding blood vessels are fully extended. This is what controlling the body temperature via the blood flow in the ears and paws it looks in darker skin. ;)

Thank you so much everyone. So glad it’s nothing to worry about :)
