Hey everyone!

This is my 11 month old Monty with 5 week old Spooky. They are both boars and are really hitting it off together and seem inseparable. If i pick one up, the other one starts making really loud noises and looking for them. They love to cuddle and they just seem like a perfect match.

I also have Berry, a 7 week old boar. (The dark brown and white one on the second picture) He’s very active and humping all the time. He tries to dominate Monty and Monty is not having it. Sometimes I find the three of them in one hidey, in peace. And the other time Monty and Berry are teeth clattering and fighting a little. I separate Berry from them sometimes, but then they are seeking contact through the fence and I put en together for a couple days, until they start fighting again. They don’t seem like the worst match, but not as good as Spooky and Monty. What should I do? I’m fine with keeping them separate sometimes to give them some rest, and then putting them together for as long as they get along well. But does anyone have advice?

Ah those are lovely pictures - it is almost impossible to have 3 boars together - there will always be fighting. The best thing is for Berry to have their company by being in his cage next to them or getting him a friend.
Sadly by putting them together every now and then you are risking the union between Spooky and Monty and could end up with all three falling out.
The link below will explain things in a better way - keep the photos coming 😂

I agree with Roselina. Three boars together hardly ever works out unfortunately.

Do note that what you are as seeking each other out between the bars when you separate them is not necessarily a positive behaviour. He may simply be trying to get back to them so they can fight and he can bully them.

What you cannot do is repeatedly separate and reintroduce them. You either need to separate them permanently because the bind isn’t working or leave them Together permanently (which is not likely to be successful sadly)

I agree, boar trios rarely survive puberty and you have a long time until adulthood with them. I personally would have Berry as a neighbour and try to find him a companion. I also agree, keep the photos or the handsome boys coming.

Thank you! It was never my intention to get a third boar, i knew the risks. I just happen to see a very sick little boy and honestly didn’t think he’d make it. I took him home to make him better but Spooky totally hit it off with Monty.
I am also considering a new friend for Berry. It’s just that I’m moving in two weeks and I need to wait and get a new cage for them then.
