ok - so we were all set to just have our two girls...but...

Yesterday an old friend got in touch and said as she had seen pics of my piggies on facebook, could i help her out? Turned out she had bought what she thought were 2 girls - of course, it was one of each. Mum had 3 babies (all girls) but my friend thought she must have been pg when she got her and was still unaware that she had a boy and a girl. Anyway - she can no longer keep the 3 girls as they are getting big. She has now had the boy neutered, but i have my suspicions one of the babies is pg.
Any way - i went and picked them up today - how could i say no?!

now - i weighed the new girlies and then weighed my girls for comparison. Here's how they measure up:
(my 13 week old girls: )
Cleo: 450g
Annabel: 417g

and the new ones (6 weeks approx )
Lilly: 295g
Dolly: 294g
Penelope: 379g...(see my concern?!)

So penelope is much heavier and although i cant see a bump, her tummy feels very rounded when i hold her. what do you all think?

don't know anything about sows/pregnant sows but wanted to say how gorgeous your three new girls are!

What gorgeous piggies, have to say all your babies are bigger than my 6 week old male piggy. See your concerns though seems very odd.x)x)

They are so cute xoxo Can understand why you couldn't say no drool

Aww, how gorgeous are they!? And they all look so different lol. They really are gorgeous though drool

And have they come from the same mum? If so what a total difference there is between the three. I love the second one she is beautifuldrool

Me and my mum also couldnt belive these 3 beautiful girls were sisters from the same litter! Not one the same. I really hope penelope isn't pregnant for her sake.

thanks all. I will keep and eye on her weight.

I have introduced them to Cleopatra and Annabel in a small temp home. Cleo wasnt too impressed but they seem happier now they are all together in Piggy topia, with plenty of room to get away from each other.

I know what you mean about being so different! I can see the similarities in Lilly and Penelope, but Dolly is a complete curve ball! Gotta love it! x

They are all gorgeos! But Penelope is my favourite! She is sooo unusual looking - STUNNING. x)
Hope they are not preggers...

x) dolly is delicious

and the others obviosuly :)) so cute x), when i found out my lily was pregnant i got advised to feed alfalfa hay and they seemed to enjoy it (:

and also make sure shes getting a little extra vit c (:

When did your friend remove the male from the female? It's possible that the mum is pregnant again and top be honest, if one of your girls is pregnant the other two probably are too@)
Can you get in touch with your friend and ask more details? Also ask her to let you know if the mother gives birth again so you can go sex the babies again to stop the continuing cyclemallethead

hey piggiepal,

i think she realised she had one of each when the babies were around 4 weeks, then removed him and got the boy neutered.

Ive checked and double checked the girls (babies) and I'm sure they are all girls. I will keep an eye on Penelope, as the other two seems much smaller, but at the moment i cant see a bump, but can feel a slight bump when i hold her. We will see!
I got back in touch with my friend and she says the mum doesnt seem to be showing any signs so far of being pg again (fingers crossed!) so if she gets away with it and i only have one of the girls pg, i'll count my self lucky! lol
She feels terrible for giving me a possibly pregnant girl, but i told her i would care for her and any babies for life - if it happens. I'll keep you posted!

thanks x

I totally ADORE Dolly! She looks like a cuddly toy!

Good luck with Penelope - hopefully nothing to worry about and just a big piggy! Is she drinking more than the others? Some pregnant piggies do.

Well done to you for coming to your friend's rescue.
