Ticks, advice needed

There was a tick on my guineas face, which I took off with tweezers but when I examined it the head was there and no blood in it's body. Have I taken it all off?

What tick and flea stuff can I buy, will get tomorrow.

at our vets we bought a simple gadget called a o tom it is easy to use and no chemicals.

Ticks usually bury their head into the skin... so if you got the head out you should be ok. Some shampoos treat it, eg. Flea or Die
