She came to me with a muesli mix so I have attempted to swap her to pellets.

We have so far tried Science Selective and Excel and she wont touch either. I am currently giving her about a tablespoon of muesli per day.

As she wont touch the pellets, is there a good quality muesli mix that I can keep her on? bearing in mind that she loves her hay and grass, eats a good variety of greens/fruit and has such a small amount of muesli.

Thanks for any advice, I am still learning!

Unfortunately, there isn't a good muesli mix that we can recommend.

I wouldn't worry that she will miss out on a lot diet-wise during the shift; pellets should only make 5-10% of the daily food intake. Just persist in providing her with a small amount of pellets daily and she will come round to them eventually. I had a middle aged lady who held out on my for about three weeks after shifting her over gradually didn't work.

It took our latest rescue 2 two weeks to eat the pellets at all and then suddenly one day they just started and ate the lot! I used to hide the muesli they came with under pellets in their bowl.

It's the excel "plain" one we use but perhaps try tempting them with the excel one with black currant in then when they go for it start mixing the two different excel ones together and gradually shift over to the plain one?

Just as a comparison, our other 3 were also used to muesli when we got them and I'd read about switching slowly so was amazed they wolfed the pellets all down straight from day one. Goes to show no 2 piggies are the same!

Our vet recommended getting the Burgess excel blackcurrant and oregano ones as well apparently they like them more. She also said it took a few months to fully change hers over to pellets, just keep adding a little bit more into their muesli until before they know it they are eating the pellets
. Our piggies are due to change from muesli to pellets I'm hoping they will move onto them with no problems.

I never thought I would get Edward on pellets but then one day he just ate them.

After about a week or two of eating everything but the pellets in their bowl I came home the other day to a bowl with no pellets in hurrah I think I may have cracked it, but we will see later on today.
How are you getting on with yours?

I'm still persevering lol but the pellets are still being ignored, even by Hettie who was already on pellets when she came to me!

Try chopping up hay and a small amount of forage and mix in pellets, she mite see it as museli, I did this with my rabbit and he is now happy on pellets. I counted the amount of pellets so I knew he was eating a few
