Tim and Sophie had grass while staying at Debbie's after his op and so we decided to grow them some (we live in a flat). Is only a short video but I think they seem happy. I removed it shortly after so they didn't gorge on it. Will give it to them in short bursts.

nom nom nom nom

So great to see Tim looking so well - a testament to your judgement and care, Debbie's care and Simon's skill

I grow trays of grass for my piggies to but they are not as dignified as those two, they jump straight into it wheeking! I'm just cutting a small amount each day at the moment as it's very new grass and I'm a bit unsure about the fertilisers in the compost until it's been watered and washed through for a couple of months.

What a great idea especially for winter when they cannot get outside.

I saw something like that on Amazon but was not sure about it.

Do you mind me asking where you got it and is it easy enough to grow it inside at the moment so that I could use it for winter?

It is literally bog standard grass seed from The Range and a propagator also from The Range.

Oh right @helen105281. I have just come across the store called The Range which is about 15 minutes drive from me so I shall have a look the next time I am over there.
Thanks and my piggies and rabbits say thanks as well :lol!:

You should be able to get it in any garden centre if that is closer. The Range is great though. I could spend ages browsing in there.

you had the same idea as me and my mama. We bought a tray like that, but we dug up turf from outside instead of growing from seed. Dont leave the pigs alone with the grass, we left archie in the room with ours while we went to the supermarket, once we got home we found the grass was almost completely bald! Its only just managed to grow back now lol.

Hmm I think I should grow them some grass for when they go into the shed for winter. They usually spend their day in their run on the grass!

I learnt that with my old pig Rosie. Am limiting these 2 to a few minutes at a time.

I grow mine in seed trays in the greenhouse. Have just discovered half size trays in a garden centre, these maybe a better size if you just want to put a couple on a window ledge. If you only want grass to cut you can grow it in pots on a window ledge.

These fit on the window sill, they are quite narrow.
