Time For A Bath?!

I'm still new to piggies, I've had my rescue girls since October. I've noticed in the last week that they both smell a bit more of guinea pig, if you see what I mean, not an off- or unclean, just their usual scent but much stronger and noticeable. Should I bathe them?! I do a full clean out their cage once a week and spot clean daily so I'm sure it's not a hygiene issue.

I only ever bathe mine if absolutely necessary such as when ovarian cysts made one incontinent or when doing a very difficult bonding. It's not natural for them to be bathed, especially not too regularly

I think that's normal, I notice mine smell more sometimes compared to others. The only times I've ever bathed pigs was when two had medicated shampoos for mites. The other two never had a bath and they were 6/7 and 8/9!
I hope never to have to bath my current three, could literally be a blood bath! (Mine of course!)

Hate bathing piggies, I only do it for medical reasons. I love the smell of piggy. I could sit sniffing them all day

I bum wash shold it becom nessesary but a full bath , I never have, never have don never will do,

I had my guinea pigs for 3 years and I never through they smell !

It's worth bering in mind , a gp conditions it's coat, you may have seen the small white milky substance it the corner of its eye
That is lanolin ,
Pig wipes eyes with frount paws , then rubs it into its coat ! It helps waterproof and insulate from the cold .

I haven't bathed mine, they actually don't have a stench to them. I have girls though, I do wonder if I will *know* they are in heat.

Could that be why the smell is a bit stronger right now, could they be in heat? To be honest I'm relieved I don't have to bathe them, they're both willful little ladies and I imagine it would be very stressful for all concerned!
