She is still tiny (fluctuates around the 770g mark) but we have decided to slowly introduce our special needs girl Mrs Fuzzy to the members of the herd with the hope of bonding her with them properly when the time is right. I know these things are usually best to do in one go but the circumstances with her are different. She has a tachycardic heartbeat and it is the worst that has been heard by my friend who runs piggy clinics at a vets in Broxbourne, she also has a tiny jaw and in the event that she ever needed a dental her mouth is too small to get the equipment in, and finally she has a cataract in her left eye.

Even with all of her issues she is a happy bouncy little pig who thrives on human contact and she will cuddle up to us for hours at a time, but we wanted to see how she would react with the others and so far so good, she has only met half the herd on my partners lap, one at a time but they have all accepted her. Katie the skinny even cuddled up to her and went to sleep. Mrs Fuzzy herself is very excited and insisted on grooming all of them under their chins which I know can be a sign of dominance so it will be interesting to see where she ends up in the herd, I don't for a minute think she has any plans of being bottom sow. She got quite stroppy when they dared groom her chin back. Anywhere here are the pics so far, Mrs Fuzzy is the mop.

Awww Mrs Fuzzy x)

So glad to see her doing well and to hear she has met some of your gang. The photo of her and Katie is adorable.

I never knew under the chin grooming was a dominance thing, i find those things really interesting. It must be fascinating to have a herd and to see all the dynamics.

Thank you, yep I think it's all part of the my chin is higher than your chin thing.

Cookie licks Treacles chin after Treacy has had watermelon or Avipro plus lol! Treacy was always top pig although this has switched now she is poorly. They do rarely bicker at the moment.

Mrs Fuzzy's hair is soooo big. Is it soft? It looks it.

She is a real cutie and I hope that all goes well when she finally meets the group. At least you know that you stand a good chance at finding her a single friend if things don't work out.

I just hope that she is not quite the karate pig that my three own perus are when it comes to grooming and haircuts!

Oh how adorable Katie went to sleep next to her! Miss Fuzzy sounds such a character. How lovely to have a piggy who actually likes to lie with you for ages.

Aww, she's lovely. I especially like the photo of her with her skinny friend- soo cute. x)

Hmmm I think she may be, previous haircuts have been a challenge as she popcorns when the scissors go near her.

She is the cuddliest pig we have had, even more than Nigel, she snuggles right into me and stretches out and goes to sleep, wakes up after a while, popcorns like a nutter, rolls on her back and turns round and goes back to sleep. Loves my dressing gown sleeves too.

She will meet the other skinny Phoebe soon too so will see how that goes.

Bit of a Mrs Fuzzy update, we weigh her at least weekly and she was 805g last night which is a massive milestone for her. She was 672g when she arrived and even dropped below that at one point. She is on her own still at the moment but now she is bigger we can look at attempting bonding properly.

We have had a slight setback with Fuzzy. She went to the vets last night for her heart med review and the vet found that she has a cataract in her other eye, so we need to have a proper think about what set up is best for her in the long term.

She is now 770g (lost weight after her drastic haricut but has started to gain again now) and is responding well to her heart meds but she will always be a very special needs little pig. On a plus, the vet told us about a new brand of Benazepril called Nelio which works exactly the same as Fortekor (same active ingredient) but is a lot more economical.
