Finally got round to playing about with the webcam using a timelapse programme. Once we get the hang of it and all the different functions we plan to post 'a day in the life of our piggies' in about 2 minutes worth of footage but as a small taster we've posted below a couple of test runs which even though are only less than a minute long is approximately an hour of real time. Anyone else who has used this - any hints would be gratefully received.

Looks like a brilliant start ... will be great once you've got a full days stuff also be good to show just how active piggies are and why they need big cages :-)

Great idea, sorry no good with the webcam thingy though! Last video made me laugh, they kept going right up to the camera.

Pig Brother is watching you piggies...... :))

I don't know much about this sort of stuff but I have been wanting to try it. I love the idea!

Forgot to ask...what webcam do you use? I only have one on my laptop now and the pigs like to stand on it lol

We've just got a cheap stand alone USB webcam. We bought a USB 2 metre extension from Amazon for a couple of quid, so we can move the camera about from cage to cage. We downloaded software from the web called Video Velocity 3 which is free but has some of the advanced features disabled unless you pay for them but there are more than enough features to confuse us.

PS I don't think we'll be getting any nominations for Oscars for directing somehow!
