So hubby wants a lie in this morning after a long week. I'm wide awake at 7.30 so I creep downstairs to have a quiet bit of breakfast and a read. But then I make the fatal mistake and open the fridge.

Wheeeeeek, Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeek, Wheee.....eeeeeeeeeeeek.

It's like a blooming klaxon. You'd think at 6 1/2 Stella might like a lie in as well. Cucumber delivered as quickly as possible to keep her quiet therefore reinforcing behavior for next time. mallethead

Haha yes, this happens to me too!
Its as if you're leaving them forever, or haven't fed them for weeks!

LOL! i had a lay-in this morning and the guineas got fed a little later...OMG, the wheeking was soooo loud, i think i was being told off! rolleyes

Aw bless her my Tutti lives outside but the minute I go out with the bowl she goes mad and when she sees me at the kitchen window preparing she gets up at the bars speaking away!:)p

I suspect Stella and Guiness were neglected a bit before I got them so it's not surprising that Stella knows how to get attention.

I know the feeling, any time the kitchen tap runs or the fridge/freezer door is opened = wheek wheek wheek wheek!

I'm not a morning person, so I'm dying for a coffee or tea but have to stumble around with veggies and nuggets for their breakfast, before I can even take care of myself! Same goes for dinner time = wheek wheek wheek at 7pm sharp!

Ah the life of a guinea slave!

Haha yes same here, altho as I sleep in the same room as mine I don't get a lie in, ever. As much noise as possible and alot of drinking (funny cos usually we don't drink alot) seems to hAppen. Convenient!

The kitchen tap is the worst for me! If we have the windows open, people actually look around due to this very loud wheeking coming from somewhere!

When I'm cutting salad for myself I always try to cut it silently. I never ever get away with it though, they ALWAYS know.

:)) mine woke me up this morning! They are in the front room and my bedroom is next door...if I turn over in bed they hear me and go mad! I had to get up and give in and get them their breakfast :))

Ive found a trick is to make up "baggys" a few days ahead (use a special knife so won't turn) and all I have to do is put in bowls and set in fridge...when the wheek choir goes off I grab bowls outta fridge, plop on counter...toss my toast into the toaster and go plop food bowls in and empty baggy in and am back in time for my toast to pop up...they shush it and stuff thier gobs and I'm not shuffling around or chopping veggies half asleep
