Timothy hay pile

Hi so I have an orchard grass hay pile in my guinea pigs cage thats big enough where they can go in it and play around with. But I dont have an inexpensive supply for orchard grass hay, unlike timothy hay. So is it ok to switch my guinea pigs’ hay pile to timothy hay? Because ive heard timothy is too rough for playing around in but idk
