Timothy Hay Question

This week, for a change I picked up some Timothy Hay with dandelion and marigolds. Has anyone tried it? The pigs absolutely love it but they are sneezing the whole time they are eating it.

I know it's not a good idea to let them have it if it makes them sneeze but they go mad for it. I think it's the fluffy bits of dandelion that does it.

Just wondered if anyone else had experienced anything like this.

I have used this in the past , but found that my piggys preferred normal hay , but have just brought another pack to see if they have changed their mind (2 years later) and NO still prefer normal hay! - had no problems with sneezing - have you tried redi- grass mine go mad for this and it smells fresh - no dust

My trio love Timothy Hay but I get a Timothy only variety - no dandelions or other fancy bits. No sneezing observed. Timothy is a good hay diet wise but it is a bit spikey so no good as bedding. They adore readigrass too but it is not a good idea to give too much readigrass as it is quite high in calcium and calories.

Wasn't aware of calcium content of redigrass luckily its a treat once a week - probably a bit less now- just been checking on calcium content due to recent illness with Guiness

Mine get that and they think it is ok. Their favourite 'non-bedding' hay is herby harvest and camomile harvest but unfortunately that is not timothy hay so it is not as good for their teeth. They will eat 3 hay racks full in a day of that but might only get through half a rack of timothy.
