i have just opened a bag of timothy hay with herbs, usually the bags i get are fine, but this one... jeepers the smell of it is foul and there is loads of brown hay in it - its like a bag which has been in storage for about a year! thing is these bags aren't cheap are they...I got it from P@H, but it was only cose i was in another town with my sister i popped in and just grabbed a bag of it. No way i can get back there to take it back - has anyone ever complained to the makers if they have had a bad bag of hay? I might be silly, but I am not made of money and now I'll have to throw this bag away, just a damm waste >:( I get really peed off when I buy something and then it turns out to be a load of rubbish!

I'd complain to the company that makes it. I am just finishing a bag of the Herbage and its not been great. Sunshine won't touch it neither will Tika Rabbit it didn't look as nice as it used to

yeah my bf said to complain to the company - worth a try anyway - its just frustrating when you open it and u realise you wasted yet more money!

complain! It's fairly expensive that herb grass stuff!

I would definitely complain to the company - but don't throw the hay away yet, in case they ask you to return it for them to examine. If they do that, make sure they refund your postage as well as the cost of the hay. Timothy hay is very expensive - I buy mine in large boxes through my vets, but believe it or not, it actually comes from Nebraska, USA. Yep, I'm in the UK, so it's a long journey - but so far I've not had any problems with it.

hi my name is karen an i have two guinea pigs called mo an jules

when we first got them they wud eat timothy hay an it always lkd alroie we only usd it about twoce as a workmate of mine who owns a farm offered me a big bale f their hay an since that early day they wont touch shop bought hay at all

Actually, I was just about to post on the same thing. The first bag of Timothy Hay I had was excellent, this one looks brown, shrivelled and old. Is that possible? The boys won't really eat it, and I'm a bit worried since it's a major part of their diet.

I've just got a new bag of the Herbage too but the hay is really short and just falls through their hay rack - never had this problem with it before!

Herbage is expensive! and the quality has gone down.
Wish they would sell it in big bags! ::)
