Mines ALWAYS been fine some people get one not so nice bag then rubbish it non stop ;) I always look for the greener stuff IF I go to P@h which is not very often. Besides not everyone like to order online. I for one will only buy online if I can send them a personal cheque. Too much fraud giving card details over a computer you never know who can get you details till its too late.

I bought the Pets at Home stuff for nearly a year thinking it was OK. I was then excited to see a bag of greener timmy hay from PAH and bought it immediately. On opening it it was mouldy and wet. I returned it right away. Since then I have had several bags of the same. I decided to switch back to lovely meadow hay I can get in my local garden centre and buy a couple of bags of Oxbow timmy hay now and then as a treat.

Here's what good Timothy hay SHOULD look like on this thread here, compared to the Pets at Home stuff - http://www.guinealynx.info/forums/viewtopic.php?p=645225#645225

I get Oxbow timothy from www.sphsupplies.co.uk which works out good value, but only if you buy it in bulk. I feed my bunnies and piggies with it, so I get through a fair amount.

I've tried other sorts:
Bunny Basics own - the pigs wouldn't touch it (fussy so and so's! ;D) and the rabbits loved it, but one of them got a dodgy tummy from it (hard to believe that it was the hay, but it was!)
West Wales Willows - quite nice hay, but the piggies prefer Oxbow. If you buy in bulk it works out roughly the same price of SPH Supplies Oxbow. The good thing about WWW is that if you order a toy, they package it with a free sample of the hay, so you can try it without buying a big bag.

Have never tried the PAH one - it looks awful!

...and SPH donate to us when you buy from them too which is good. We can keep our rescue pigs on Cavy Cuisine and Performance because you all mention us when you buy (just add the RGPR option to your trolley).

MIne like the BB Timothy but find WWW and Hay Experts Hay too stalky, probably because they're not pure Timothy.

Oh no - I've never realised I should do that, Karen! :( I'm always ordering from SPH, so will definitely make sure you get your donations from now on!

Yes, I agree - WWW hay is pretty thick and stalky.

:) Thats OK, it just saves me having to buy it all in and post it out this way so the guineas get more attention. This option works better for me because I work full time. Just add the option to your shopping basket :).
