Bought out piggies some Timothy hay the other day (for the first time) and they won't eat it! Fussy .

Ours love it, however it has to be fresh. Guess they are not as keen on thebits they pee on.

Its all in the hack rack. so not been pee'd on. Luckily they also have an alfalfa hay ring aswell, a treat as were al on holiday.

Mine go through stages. Sometimes I am refilling their hay balls with Timothy several times a day and other times they barely touch it mallethead

Do piggies have to have Timothy Hay or is meadow/ings etc perfectly ok?

Just wondering since my hay for pets delivery this week...not quite sure of the pros and cons of different hays...

I tend to switch up the different types of hay/grass, so they aren't getting the same thing all the time. I switch between timothy, orchard grass, oat hay. Timothy seems to be their least favorite, while Alfalfa is their favorite, prolly because they hardly ever get it. Max just got some all to himself for his birthday laced with green beans and green peppers.

Meadow hay is perfectly fine. Mine have meadow hay for bedding although they eat a lot of it too and Timothy in their hay balls although they sometimes have alpha instead of Timothy or they have Timothy with dandelion as a treat
