Hi there,
Is there anybody who could help, i have three 9 week old female guinea pigs who are not interested much in fresh vegetables or fruit. The only thing they are eating is sweetcorn and nibbling on carrot.
They are happy to eat pellets, hay and some fresh grass- anyone had this with their guinea pigs or got any tips on encouraging them to eat fresh food?

Unfortunately most piggies learn from their elders what is safe to eat and what isn't so if they have t had that experience it can take time. Try not to feed too much corn or carrots on account of the high sugar levels. Instead try offering small amounts of good veg and be prepared to leave it in their cage for them to keep going back to. I had a fully grown pig who I don't think had ever been given veggies before and I would cut one chunk of pepper and put it in the cage for him and just leave it there as long as possible. The following morning as I was about to get rid of it he finally ate it. Next time, as he knew it was safe and tasty, it went as quick as the others ate their veg.

Comet refused to eat it for around 6 months :))

It's a long shot, @Herbs&Spice but you could try nibbling a bit of the veg in front of them to "show" them it's safe. It worked for me when I was trying to convince my last pair to eat spring greens.

My piggies' favorite is romaine lettuce, which they eat daily. My Finn eats herbs also like cilantro, parsley, basil, and etc. I raised Finn since he was a baby so he eats many different kinds of vegetables and herbs.

Lara was given to me by a friend and she didn't eat vegetable or herbs according to this friend who raised her. After coming to live with me, Lara at first didn't eat vegetable or herbs. All she ate was hay and some pallets but I kept on giving her vegetables and herbs. Currently, Lara eats all the vegetables and herbs just like Finn would.

Your piggies are babies so they will learn quickly about vegetables and herbs. I would keep on giving it to them and they will figure out sooner rather than later.
