Tizzie is currently in a flare up and went to the vet again last Monday, they dipsticked her urine and found lots of blood, the sample was sent off to be cultured and she was prescribed sulfatrim 0.3ml x2 daily and loxicom 0.2ml daily, these medications appear to have calmed it however light blood, blood on dipsticks and squeaky pees/cecal poops are still happening, so the drugs don't appear to be completely fixing her problems. We got the culture results today and there were no bacteria or crystals, suggesting it's not an infection or bladder stones/sludge, so of course my first thought is she has interstitial cystitis like some people on here have suggested before.

My regular vet has said to carry on with the medication she has for 2 weeks, if it's still there then they will refer us to a specialist exotic vet in Nottingham, which is great, but my question is, should we be waiting that long or should we ask for her to be seen sooner since the medication isn't fully helping?

If she is still squeaking, I would ask for a conscious X-ray to rule out stones. I would try the meds and see if there is any improvement. What does she weigh? It could be as you say IC...

I mentioned an xray but they said because there's no crystals in the urine it's unlikely to be stones, she has had 2 ultrasounds also that showed nothing, I'm hoping the specialist will want one of those done anyway. She currently weighs 1070g, she is otherwise healthy and her appetite is good, maintaining her weight well, this has been going on for 9 months now, not long after she gave birth, she did initially have a UTI however nowadays it's just bleeding and pain, no infection, high calcium foods are 100% a trigger which is why I think it's IC. Her last flare up was caused by fresh grass, and the flare up before that was caused by kale, I'm beginning to see a pattern emerging!
