Hi, my boys are getting a little stinky (not overpowering) which I think is down to them sleeping where they pee and poop. The last time I bathed was at the beginning of June, so I know it wasn't very long ago, but I feel like I should at least give them a bum bath (they smell worst at their bum).
I do know that guinea pigs are animals and not supposed to smell like they've just had a shower, but I thought they were supposed to smell like hay? (They do not...)
Should I bathe or should I wait a few more months?
Thanks x

If you think your piggies need a bum bath, probably better to do it now before the weather turns cold! If they frequently sleep in their wee and poops then some small washable pee pads you can put in their hidey houses and beds and change daily are a good investment, we bought a pack of 7 9inch x 6inch pee pads from Atalas on eBay that we put wherever Jezzy floof and Blodwen sleep as they are both long haired mucky little madams!
But none of my piggies really smell bad, not unless you actually put your face right in their bum fur, so if the smell is an issue you might get a vet check just to be on the safe side, and maybe rethink what bedding you use and how often it gets cleaned?

Good idea about the pee pads, they'll help a lot :)
I have a coconut lotion but it also contains Monoi oil, is this ok to use for the bath or should I find something which is just coconut?
Thanks x
