Roly is a gorgeous 6.5 month 'black fox' piggy. I took him in a while ago because I thought he was just gorgeous. He lost some weight, but has been treated for an infection and is now putting weight back on and eating well. I am just not sure what is best for him now. He plays out in the garden with my two boys Rolfy and Harris in the same pen, but separated and they seem ok together, and Roly becomes a different piggy - popcorning and non stop eating. I don't think they would get on as a trio, but I think he really needs a friend. At 6.5 months though, he is going to be becoming quite hormonal I expect, so not sure if he would be best with an older (3 year old+ ? ) boar, or a baby 6 week boar. It is possible I could rehome him to the right home with the right pal, maybe, but not made any decisions yet. This is what happens when your heart rules your head mallethead mallethead Any one any thoughts? Thanks x

Not much of an expert in this kind of thing but you have clearly given him a fantastic home and he has came to trust you. If you have the room and the money, I think you should keep him and try and find him a friend (not sure what age though). All in all, it is your decision and we will back you up whatever you decide x

I think you should keep him because he is just stunning and reminds me of a little girl we had years ago called pencil rolleyes.

I would imagine he would mix better with a baby boar as 6.5 months old is already quite old however as he gets on with your other two maybe he would be fine with a chilled out older gentleman?

Good luck with whatever you decide

Sorry, I can't offer any advice as I have no experience of bonding guinea pigs.

He is a gorgeous boy and I would find it very difficult to give him away to someone else. Black piggies are just so cute.

It is unlikely that I will rehome him unless someone really special with a perfect pal comes along. I think possible older rather than younger may be the way forward with him. Rolfy and Harris, his mates are 10 months old, but far too hormonal to accept him and make up a trio. Not in any rush yet to decide as Roly has plenty of play time outside with his mates. xx

Keep him Jane! He is a beauty! As you know I can't help on the bonding males front as I failed miserably but maybe you could try any new single foster boys that come your way young and old and see what works?

He's gorgeous Jane & i too think you should keep him, can't offer any advice re bonding with a boy as i didn't have much luck in that dept with my black fox :(|) :(|)
