C&C cages are a trap I feel like I'm on a slippery slope to just handing over the house keys to our pets and moving into a tent in the garden.

I was changing the pig bedding today and I thought with the hay tray they've got it wouldn't take much effort to expand by another 3 squares to make the ground level 3x5 I could just use the hay tray as the flooring so I wouldn't need any more corex or fleece bar maybe a bit of a wall to stop hay being kicked everywhere. But I probably have enough scraps for that. The main expense would be a larger piece of plywood to make the table underneath big enough to support it. It would mean sacrificing a bit more of my dining room, money and dignity but the fur balls are worth it.
I'm just not sure they'd appreciate it we have boars so more space does not mean more piggies and they're not young spritely little things that love to run about and I'm unsure whether I want to faff about making it bigger if they will still just sit in their hide and sleep all day.

Sorry for the long post I haven't even asked OH yet the answer may well be no and probably at least a "wait until we've sorted the snake viv" but my brains always onto the next scheme for spoiling my babies.

Here's their current set up...

We live in a tiny 2 up 2 down terrace too... so after debating for a year or two whether to make my second ground floor room into an office or a dining room, we decided to adopt piggies, then more piggies, then chuck out all the furniture so its just for piggies, snails and a tarantula... then have more piggies in the living room too... then a fish took over my bedroom... so I sleep next to a fishtank and work from home in a corner of the piggy hay storeroom? And I have to stealth manoevre in the dark without rustling to get through my ex living room to the kitchen without waking up my owners and paying the coriander tolls and setting off the hippo alarm... Its plenty space really for a hooman, I fold up quite small, and I can even use my shower occasionally by appointment if there arent giant snails, fish buckets or piggy hay trays soaking in vinegar in there :)

Wow! You have a tarantula! I love them! 😍

We rent our house and have had to sign a 'no more animal's' clause but once we buy a place I can see it becoming like that. We already have plans for house rabbits and I have my eye on getting some whites tree frog's and a millipede

That's a lovely set up! What lucky piggies! What size is the ground floor currently?

12 C&C squares not sure what that is in cm but each grid is just under 1 foot I think. It's definitely comfortably over the recommended for 2 boars.

Lovely set up!
I agree that we are owned by our pets! 😂
Hence why my piggies have their own bedroom (I literally can’t expand any more - they have the whole room 🤦🏻‍♀️) and the dogs take over downstairs. I might as well just move the horses into the conservatory and I’ll camp outside 😂😂

We are hoping to sell our house and upgrade to somewhere with more land over the next few years. But any potential property must have a large spare bedroom for the piggies 👍🏻

I might be able to help here C&C grids are usually just over a foot, but you have 8 hole grids not the normal 9 hole

As your cage is a 4x3 c&c, it measures approximately 150cm x 112cm, which comes to 18 sq ft.

My fiance has said I can exted it but we've agreed to wait until the piggies gotcha day in the summer. As we have the snakes viv to finish and are supposed to be saving for a house. I've also had to promise that this is as big as it'll get.

Will that be a promise with 🤞behind your back?
