The sad truth is that a lot of stores don't care about the animal's welfare if it hurts the bottom line. My cousin (who is a huge animal lover who has owned pretty much everything over the years and feels strongly about animal welfare) quit a job at a pet chain without another job to go to because emotionally she just couldn't handle it anymore.

Sad that at the end of the day it all comes down to mony,

I got turned down by pets at home because they only want people who get them more customers and money! They don't care about the animals unfortunately

l dont know about you , but on the very odd ocasion l have been there , the floor staff always look a bit ill at ease :hmm:as if they are scared to put a foot wrong

How sad but not surprising. :(
I'm happy my local garden centre who have pets for sale always listen to my advice whenever I point it out. I even helped them with bonding one of their boars with another boar. He was in cage with a ton of young boars and harrassing them all. I noted a rather relaxed piggie in their who didn't seem bothered by him and with my help they paired the two together and sold them as a pair. The next time I went in they thanked me for helping them.
