When I adopted Erin a few weeks ago, I brought a second water bottle. A glass one from pets at home with a cute little duck in it. They therefore had one standard plastic one and the glass one. Over the last few weeks, I noticed that the water was going down quicker in the glass bottle than the plastic one until eventually, the girls stopped using the plastic altogether! Muggins here has since been back to pets at home and purchased a second glass bottle and I am pleased to say, both bottles are now being used. At £5.49 each, they're not cheap mallethead I get the feeling my girls think they are to posh for plastic! :))

Trouble is, I have loads of the plastic ones!

Posh ladies...

PS: You can always donate the spare plastic bottles to a rescue - every little is welcome!

I don't think that you will be dissapointed with the glass ones they are possibly better for keeping clean and also won't scratch as easily. I must admit I was looking at getting those for my guineas. I think you may have just convinced me. Have you thought that maybe the water tastes different to them in the glass bottles?

I don't know but I should imagine the water stays cooler in a glass bottle doesn't it ?

I cant find anywhere online that sells the glass bottles. My friend has one of the glass bottles with the duck in it for her rabbit. She got if from P@h. They dont appear to sell them on their website though. Would love to get them for my lot..

Yes I brought them from pets at home. I imagine they do keep the water cooler. I shall take a photo of them and post it tomorrow. They're good because they can be put on the inside or outside of the hutch / cage. I have mine on the inside :)

I think they would be much better in the summer than plastic.. I dont have a P@H near enough to me. I'm always on a never ending quest to find the perfect water bottle with a long spout!

I just bought one from that link. Don't know how long it will last in this house but I am all for glass over plastic (for health reasons).

Thanks for the link!

I never thought to look at ebay. Just ordered 3 26oz bottles. CAnt wait for them to arrive. Thanks for the tip..

Cool :) let me know what you think. A word of advise, you can fiddle with the spout to make it point in the right direction depending on if you choose to have it on the inside or the outside :)
