In January 2014 two little boys (Toby and Hunter) came to us when someone at Ali's work asked if we could help as the boys weren't getting on. We agreed to foster them with a view to try and rebond them together and if successful return them to their family. Unfortunately the boys had other ideas initially and wouldn't tolerate each other. This was possibly due to their original owners keeping them in a totally unsuitably sized cage. We agreed with the family that if successfully rebonded they would have to give the boys a proper sized cage for them to live in along with the necessary items required. Needless to say our criteria was not accepted and the boys became a permanent part of our family.

Separate cages to let them settle in....

Fast forward six months and finally a stable bond between them...

As you can see both boys flourished in their new home with us and became a couple of porkers. Toby seemed to have the habit of sniffing your breath when you picked him up and would often almost end up with his nose in your mouth at the most inopportune moments! Also he was always first to greet you at feeding time and would wait patiently for a head rub before his food was delivered. He also had good keyboard skills and would often be found searching online for piggy treats for him and his buddy.

It is with great sadness that we write this tribute as Toby was taken from us very suddenly almost a fortnight ago. He was a young pig who seemed to show no signs of illness until the day of his passing. Both ourselves and Hunter are still in a state of shock and are missing Toby very much but we hope that by writing this it will help us come to terms with his loss and we are sure that Toby is showing Wallace, Gromit and Tim all the piggy sites on the internet over the Rainbow Bridge.

Run free little man and popcorn yourself silly....xx

AW it was lovely to read how you helped both guineas. Am so sorry you have lost Toby, it must have been a terrible shock.

So sorry to read this. Toby had a rough start but was so lucky to have found a home with you. Popcorn free little man.

BIG HUGS

I am ever so sorry that your gorgeous Toby has left you so suddenly and unexpectedly! Sadly, it can happen to anypig at any time. It is very hard to come to terms with if it is a young piggy. There is nothing you could have done; some piggies sadly come with a time bomb ticking in their body. :(

He had a very happy life with you and his best mate Hunter.

I am so sorry guys, I know how deeply you cared for him as you do with all your furry family. He was a real little character, you can see that from those photo's and was a handsome little chap. He had a wonderful life with you and through the pain try and hold onto this. He'll always be with you in your hearts. Massive hugs x

Sleep well little dude

RIP Toby

So sorry for your loss. :bye: So sad that he left you so soon after finding love and happiness with you. Its not fair!:hb:

Oh how sad, especially as you had managed to make the pair of them so happy, but a blessing that he had a good life with you. I always tend to think that it's not so much the length of life but the quality that is important, and he had quality.
It is hard when they go young though. I hope that Hunter comes to terms with his loss too. xx

Sorry to hear this, what a wonderful job you did with them both. Rip Toby, you will be very much missed.
