At the beginning I used to feed Toby & Barney on P@H nuggets. At the back end of the year I decided that I wanted to give them some variety in food firstly so they would not get bored of their food and also so they would be happy with any nuggets if I ran out of a brand.
Currently, they are having a mix up of 4 varieties: P@H nuggets, Burgess Excel Oregano & Blackcurrant, Burgess Excel Mint and Harringtons Optimum.
Now my boys LOVE their nuggets to the point where they usually sleep beside their nugget bowl to guard it - it quite often looks like they are giving it a little cuddle. I used to give them their ration at the beginning of the day but have now had to split it into breakfast and supper as it was gone so fast.
We have found new joy in watching them eat as they (Barney in particular) like to pick all of the minty ones out first before they then start on the rest. It is these simple things that just have to make you laugh and love them just a little bit more!
It certainly makes you realise how nuggets are much better than muesli to avoid selective eating. I also love the thought that my boys have a little bit of choice!
