About 3 days ago I noticed that Toby had a weepy right eye, it looked to be the milky cleaning fluid so I thought I had possibly caught him mid bath (although he was stood outside the kitchen so not his normal spot). I made a mental note to keep an 'eye' on it. I didn't spot anything the next day but then saw the milky fluid again yesterday. I have just given him his dinner and his eye looks fine but the fur around it looks gunky. His left eye has not had this problem at all. Is this something to be concerned about. He is healthy in every other way and is acting like his normal bullying food grabbing monster self. Shall I just keep monitoring?

Poor Toby! I hope it is nothing serious!
I have no advice. But want to say best of luck x

If in doubt, please see a vet. Injuries to the eye are not always obvious.

I have just had Toby to the vet as his eye kept getting gunky - very intermittently though. The vet checked his eye for ulcers and all was clear thank goodness but she felt that the conjunctiva was just very slightly inflamed and red so we have Fucithalmic eye drops twice a day for a week. Before I give the drops I need to bathe his eye in black tea. Not sure who will be more distressed: Toby because of the interference or me because I will have to get up before 6am to apply the morning dose! I would prefer to do them 12 hourly but I leave for work at 6:30 and don't get home until 21:20 but it will have to do!
