Herbert is a skanky pig!

So he had to have a dunk

And it was all worth it in the end as he had a cuddle with my sister watching TV

Now you have seen him wet, what do people think of his weight, he has hay all the time vegges every day. And Excel guinea wig food all the time. Yet he will not put on weight! Sitting at 850g today.

He doesn't look thin. How old is Herbert?

Does he race around all the time and never seem to finish a piece of food but always want to do something else and then go and look over there and come back to have another mouthful but then need to find out what's happening over there....etc etc... If that's the case then he's like my scruff who hasn't put on weight at all and is now about four and a half. My other girls have backsides that can block out the light, but not that one! In her case, it's all down to personality. She is not an unhealthy piggy, she looks nicely covered just as Herbert does in the bath, she is simply very active.
 
I've got a piggy I struggle to get above 500g ..... but she has teeth issues.... might be worth checking his teeth ... but if theyre okay then maybe he just burns off the food with being active and a high metabolism?

Teeth were fine when he had a health check at a local rescue.

He does seem to be nervous wiggle and tends to have a run around when in the run or living room. Hes 8 months old, I got him at 450g in Oct and hes been 850g for about a month now.
 
I wouldn't be concerned, I don't think thats that light. I have a two Male piggies and a female one just over a year, 3 and a half and 3. Smallest one is 828grams male over a year and the other 2 no more than 900grams.
 
Oh my goodness wet herbert nom nom nom x) x)

Sometimes their just different body shapes like people - Herb doesnt look at all skinny/underweight - hes just small and slim and not boney so I wouldnt worry
 
Well hes booked for a vet visit next week for a pre op. And then hopefully bye bye boy bits

Leave it 6 weeks


And find a girlfriend or two or three ........
