She is such a beautiful piggy, I would be excited too! I love her colours, can't wait to see more pictures when shes all settled in x)x)x)

What a beautiful girl, no wonder you're excited. Looking forward to hearing all about her arrival.

Yay, I am so happy for you! She is so gorgeous, and I am not much jealous that she is one of my favourite breeds and colours. I'll just add her to my pignapping list. :)

Hello all,
My oh my what a hectic day. When I went to get Holly from Barnsley animal rescue shelter (via guinea pig rehome site) I nearly cried cos she is just such a sweetie and so gentle bless her xoxo she was living on her own and not looked after too well before going to the rescue. Her claws on her front feet are curled and have been neglected and her feet are a bit rough underneath and she has a scabby nose :( but she will be ok with some TLC. I contacted the rescue about two other girls before I was told about Holly, however they were rehomed so I decided that I would give Holly a home.
When I got there this morning the foster lady told me she now had a pair of girls that had come in since she had spoke to me about Holly and would I like to see them. Would I like to see them? What a daft question rolleyes So I saw them and the poor darlings I just could not ever ever leave them they just had to come home with me too. Poppy and Peggy - mum and daughter. Poppy is just recovering from a bad eyepoke injury and she has bumblefoot on one of her front feet and Peggy and Poppy have neglected front claws all curly and wonky :(
I took them home and drove home with butterflies in my stomach as I just wanted to get home and settle them in and get them to my vets for a thorough check up. I was lucky to get an appointment this afternoon and Poppy has to carry on with some more eye cream and *** be seen again on thursday, apparently her bumblefoot isn't too bad. They all had their claws clipped, Peggy's are the worst bless her.
My girls Mildred and Bright eyes have been so welcoming and have been so happy with them. Mildred has really taken to Holly and has even sat in the log cabin snuggled up to her. Peggy has been popcorning and eating like she's starved and Poppy is quiet as is my Bright Eyes. Holly has seemed fine.
Tonight they are all in the bedroom on the vet bed and in the folds of a huge fleece blanket all snuggled quietly.
I am not ver knowledgable about bumble foot and would like to hear from anyone who has had a piggy with this and also how other people have coped with poor piggies with neglected claws.
Here are some piccies.

I have been out to see my girls this morning and clean them out and cuddle them :) They are gorgeous :) and all getting along like they have always known each other which is so lovely. They were all together in the bedroom like they were having a mothers meeting :) Holly who apparently dosen't seem to know what veg is has been happily sampling sweetcorn, cucumber, curly kale, tomato and pepper. I bet they are in heaven bless them. I put some gorgeous guineas foot ointment on them all last night and this morning cos their little tootsies were so red and dry :( Hopefully they will soon get better now they are living on vetbed and fleece :)

How lovely! all gorgeous girlies x)

Perhaps contact Chrissie at Gorgeous Guineas about the bumble foot. I know she has developed a cream for it but it is still in trials at the moment but I have heard very promising things about it......if you explain the situation, she may let you try some or recommend something else until the trials are complete! Good luck x

Please take no offence at this Tatty, but I would have quarnteened the girls before introducing them to pigs that you had at home. I used to do the same and just introduce them but then thinking back I lost over 25 to gastroentritis, I am not going to say this will happen but since that time I always keep my newbies, seprate for 2 weeks no matter were they came from.

I had a pig that got bitten on the eye and he was similar colours to Poppy, his eye healed with time but since the injury it used to water regular and his cage friend used to keep it clean.

Good luck with them.
Emma x

I have to agree with you about that Emma, I have been guilty of not quarantining as well so as I could introduce a baby boar ASAP . It is good advice though x

Hi sweetie how's things going? by the way Holly is x)x)x)x) swoooooooooon she so fits in with the other little darling hearts ahhhhhhh you're crew are so sweeeeeeeeet xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

As for bumlbefoot if it is you need cream and bathing, yes as other's have advised use Chrissie's stuff i believe it's wonderful if you don't get good results within a week or two at most i'd see the vets, she may need a course of antibiotics or such......as precautionary measures x

Well done tho......what a lovely group you have i'm so dam jealous but so pleased for you love xx>>>xx>>>xx>>>xx>>>

this is such a lovely story, I'm so glad you've all got each other. they're lovely piggies and now have the lovely life they deserve xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

PS i can personally recommend gorgeous guineas foot cream, it works wonders. Maggie-May's feet were very rough, then i started a pedicure and manicure with them, now they all get it and absolutely love it! just like every girl likes to be pampered. Sonny's too young for it yet. Remember to follow instructions and do a patch test xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

All the girls are still fine. They have all had their gorgeous guineas foot cream on again today and they love it :) Poppy is back at the vets tomorrow and already her eye has improved loads :) Peggy is still very nervous :( but loves chin tickles and being brushed :) Holly is so loving Mildred and Bright Eyes loves little Peggy. They are all a delight and I'm so glad that they will never have to suffer again. Supper time tonight I just sat for ages watching them eat their veggies, poor peggy didn't know what to eat first and keeps running from the hayrack to the food bowl and taking bites out of all the veg :)

Aw they are all so lovely! I bet they are made up to be home with you and having their tootsies looked after properly!
They look so happy together, well done on giving them a home! My boys saw the pics and are now scrapping over who gets to date who! rolleyes

Aw, they are all gorgeous and look really settled in their new home. That was so nice of you take home the other 2 girls too. You will have made 3 piggy's very happy.

What a lovely story!
You are one really lucky lady ... the other two were also destined for you!

If you check out the Milly and Molly thread under the Rescue Section, you will see that Milly had a severe case of bumblefoot when she was taken into the RSPCA. I am now Milly and Molly's mummy :<> ... they are so lovely.

Anyway, I had to take Milly back to the vet because I was concerned that her previously poorly foot wasn't looking so good. I have been given antibiotics for her again, Baytril like she had with her foster mummy.

I was wondering about Pampered Paws cream by Gorgeous Guineas ... is that what you using?

Hi there,
I am using the pampered paws cream from gorgeous guineas. All the girls feet were red, dry and cracked and I have noticed improvement already and they look like they really enjoy having it applied :)
I took Poppy to the vets again today and he said that her bumblefoot was not active ie. no bacteria, therefore he wouldn't need to prescribe any antibiotics. The swelling may reduce but she should manage to live with it which she seems to do hobbling about bless her. At least she is on vet bed and fleece blankets and I clean them out every single day so hopefully she won't have any discomfort.
I hope you little darlings bumblefoot settles down. I have read the thread about them and they too are little sweethearts x>> as all the poor piggies in rescues are :)
